HEMBERT PENARANDA

 

Hembert Penaranda is an Italy-based architect with more than 20 years of architectural design experience.

 

After graduation in Architecture from the University of Genoa, he began his professional career with Renzo Piano in Genoa. His collaborations later on ranged from several studios based in Munich (Germany) as well as Paris (France). Afterwards, he established “Hembert Penaranda Officina Architetti” in Genoa. Meanwhile he started his cooperation with distinguished UK based international design institute Chapman Taylor. As the director of Chapman Taylor’s Italy office, he chaired the design of all main projects handled by the office. 

 

Mr. Peneranda continuously initiates that architecture to be something active. He firmly believe that the basis of an architectural project should be firstly solidity, but without flexibility anything that really solid can not be built. Durability and flexibility look like two opposing concepts, but they are perfectly complementary.

 

From 2001 to present he has been a professor in the architecture faculty at the University of Genoa. Since 2008 he led the four studios of “Hembert Penaranda Officina Architetti” developing considerable high-quality projects around the world.
